Newspaper Archive of The Historical Society of Helotes, TX

Welcome to the Historical Society of Helotes digital newspaper archive collection of the Helotes Echo. This local paper was founded in 1961 by Publisher Charles O. Brown (1916-2000) and his wife Lucy Perkins Brown (1916-1988), who was Editor-in-Chief until her death. There was a gap of several years after 1961 and the newspaper began publication again in 1967. 

Lucy founded the Helotes Historical Society in 1966, and her newspapers became the foundation of the Society’s archives. The Society has digitized most of the Helotes Echoes from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Our newspaper holdings can be accessed below.
